ARTIST_

X is a multidisciplinary practitioner whose work operates at the vanguard of Indigenous futurism, synthesized through the lenses of spatial politics, ancestral epistemologies, and speculative technology. By converging land-based knowledge with emerging digital architectures, X explores the concept of living systems—reconfiguring the built environment as a site-specific ontology shaped by memory, deep time, and embodied experience.

Methodological Approach

As an enrolled citizen of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana and Indigenous CHamoru of Guam, X’s practice is a rigorous exercise in algorithmic sovereignty. Their work challenges the colonial decoupling of technology from the natural world, instead proposing a biotic architecture where the digital and the organic are inextricably linked. X utilizes their dual background in Architecture (MArch, USC) and Art and Technology (MFA, SAIC) to develop a material language that critiques the static nature of colonial structures, replacing them with fluid, responsive installations that honor Indigenous sovereignty.

Exhibition and Provenance

X’s work functions as both a conceptual intervention and a technical feat, leading to an extensive international presence. Their practice is represented in the collections and exhibitions of major global and national institutions, including Ars Electronica, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Field Museum, and the Autry Museum. Currently based in California, X continues to engineer resilient spatial narratives that bridge ancestral presence with speculative, tech-mediated futures.
